Generally, no. For patient safety, all medications administered during your inpatient stay must be supplied by the Hospital Pharmacy. A pharmacist will verify your home medication list upon admission to ensure continuity of treatment.
Before discharge, a clinical pharmacist or nurse will review your final prescriptions with you, provide detailed instructions, and answer any questions. Your discharge medications will often be filled by the hospital pharmacy or sent electronically to your preferred community pharmacy.
Inpatient services include 24-hour nursing and physician care, specialized dietary services, access to rehabilitation, laboratory and imaging, pain management, and dedicated case managers to assist with discharge planning.
Availability of private rooms depends on your medical condition and current hospital occupancy. You can discuss your preference and insurance coverage for private rooms with our admissions team.
